NBC renews “The Office” for a 7th Season for 2010-2011! From NBC press release:

NBC has renewed three more of its Thursday-night comedies – “30 Rock” (9:30-10 p.m. ET), “The Office” (9-9:30 p.m. ET) and the freshman series “Community” (8-8:30 p.m. ET) for the 2010-11 season. The returning programs join the previously announced “Parks and Recreation” (Thursdays, 8:30-9 p.m. ET) that also will return for next season.

Currently in its sixth season, “The Office” is network television’s #1 primetime scripted series among adults 18-34 and is NBC’s #1 scripted series in the key demographic of adults 18-49. “The Office” regularly finishes #2 in its highly competitive time period in adults 18-49 ahead of CBS’s “CSI.” The most recent “Office” telecast on March 4 outscored ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” marking the first time “The Office” has topped “Grey’s” head-to-head in adults 18-49. For the season through 23 weeks, “The Office” is averaging a 4.9 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49 and 9.4 million viewers overall, representing gains versus last season of 4 percent in 18-49 and 3 percent in total viewers.

Stay tuned for the remainder of season 6 which will have its season finale on May 20th.
The Office is on at 9pm EST, NBC Thursdays.

The Hurt Locker hurts Avatar!

After Avatar was released and it kept breaking records, including the most money ever made in the theaters, $720 million, I thought it was going to win every award it was nominated for and I didn’t even think twice. Well, I was wrong, The Hurt Locker beat Avatar out for Best Picture at the Oscars last night. Not that it is an underdog win, it was just that I thought Avatar couldn’t lose. Well congrats to The Hurt Locker and to all the other winners. Here is a list of some of the Winners:

The Marriage Ref: From executive producer Jerry Seinfeld comes this new reality series that looks into the unexpected and absurd situations that arise in the marriages of celebrities, sports stars and just plain regular folks. A panel of guests review both sides of each situation, giving both the positives and negatives, before giving their overall decision. With all sides of the issues examined, the audience gets to decide whose side they are on (if any).

So the season premiere of “The Marriage Ref” was last night. It was a funny show, definitely better than Lame-o Leno. It was funny to laugh at other peoples problems. The best part is that the arguments are petty things, like over a formal dinning room or flossing in bed. Its definitely not refereeing a battle between a husband and a wife over marital problems, which is really good. Of course Jerry Seinfeld is funny as always. One of the unique things about the show is that the judge panel is different on every episode. So tune in to keep up to date with the Marriage Ref directly after The Office on NBC.

All The Office fans have been waiting for tonight. Tonight is the night that the Dunder Mifflin baby is born. We have been waiting since the end of Season 5, when there was a cliff hanger ending. They never told us Pam was pregnant, but implied it with Jim’s expressions. Now the long wait from the Olympics has built up and now we are ready, over ready! So in roughly a half hour we will start the process of the birth of Mini Halpert! Tune in to NBC at 9pm EST for the 1 hour return of “The Office.”
